We need a special place for the ‘icons’. They are venerated examples of how to be; a benchmark for how to strive to reach such levels of glory. There are icons in every industry, standing pretty on their pedestals, a near god-like effigy. Unsurprisingly, the wine industry is full of icons.
The key to this wine is all about the site. Heavy clays formed over time from the erosion of the Willunga hills are rich with nutrients and contain a deep water-holding capacity that allows us to hang the grapes out on the vine for a little longer to achieve the optimum ripeness. Matured for 39 months in French barriques, with no new oak however about 15% second use barriques.

Beautifully rounded weight that still retains a relatively present acidity. Soft and rich, with spicy notes to keep things interesting.
